Austin - Local activists are planning a protest outside of the Federal Building in Downtown Austin tomorrow preceding the trial of Houston doctor Stanislaw Burzynski later that day.
Protests are taking place every day during the trial from 8 AM to 9 AM.
Dr. Burzynski, who claims to be curing patients of cancer without chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, faces the potential for his medical license to be taken away by the Texas Medical Board.
The trial begins at 9 a.m. At 300 W. 15th Street (4th floor) and the demonstration begins at 8 a.m. and will feature several former cancer patients who say their lives were saved by Dr. Burzynski.
Momentum for the demonstration was sparked by a showing of the pro-Burzynski film "Burzynski: Cancer Cure Coverup" at the Alamo draft house this past Saturday in Austin. More than 100 people attended and dozens filled out "pledge cards" promising to attend Tuesday's protest.
